If you as a pet owner are responsible and take care of your pet, by keeping current with vaccines and taking him or her to the vet if they show signs of illness, then I will give you your money back if your puppy has a genetic illness, or defect. Some breeders do offer longer health guarantees, but if you look at the fine print you will realize that there are a lot of strings attached to that guarantee, and they are usually not money back. I breed for health and take great care of my dogs and puppies. Come for a visit and see.
I give a 1 year no non-sense Health Guarantee. My contract is not designed to fool you into thinking that I am guaranteeing against hip dysplasia. No breeder can guarantee it won't happen. Although my health guarantee includes Hip Dysplasia, it usually does not show up until much later in a dogs life. Usually after they are at least 5 years old. My guarantee is for one year. Facts are there are many different causes for Hip dysplasia, from the type and amount of exercise to the genetics of the parents. I have heard of many cases being caused by going up and down stairs, or in and out of large vehicles where they have to jump up, or climb to get in. After my puppies are out of my care it is up to the owners to insure their health. I recommend doing a little research on all illnesses for you pet and do what you can to prevent them..
Please do not buy a puppy from another breeder just because they have a longer guarantee, read their contract first and then decide.

Dogs of all ages are subject to the symptoms of hip dysplasia and the resultant osteoarthritis. In severe cases, puppies as young as five months will begin to show pain and discomfort during and after vigorous exercise. The condition will worsen until even normal daily activities are painful. Without intervention, these dogs may be unable to walk at all by a couple years of age. In most cases, however, the symptoms do not begin to show until the middle or later years in the dog's life.

MY Contract - Receipt
All of my puppies are sold after they are 6 weeks old. They are sold only after being checked by the vet, therefore they have a health guarantee of 10 days from the statement date against all major viral diseases. Puppies are guaranteed for 1 year after statement date against genetic defects. All guarantees are invalid if not accompanied by a written veterinarian statement. If your puppy is showing signs of illness you must contact me and your vet immediately or this contract is void. I will refund up to and no more than the purchase price of the puppy after my vet has read and confirmed the report. I am not responsible for puppies that go down with Hypoglycemia or contact a common cold, coccidia, or any other minor illness. This contract is void if you as the owner do not stay current with your puppy’s vaccines. You will need to take your puppy to the vet for at least 2 more boosters, every 3 to 4 weeks. I am not responsible for any medical bills or treatments that you the buyer may incur. All puppies have had their first set of vaccines, they have been de-wormed and their dew claws have been removed. Each puppy will have a medical record from the Mayville Vet. You should take your medical record with you to your puppies 1st vet appointment.
